I found this website a year ago while we were in the process of creating our product specifically for this issue. The product is called The Pointe Shoe ‘No Slip’ Grip. It took 7 years to devise it. I’m SO incredibly proud and wish it existed when I was a young dancer. (Not that you have to be young!) Please email me any questions.

Hi Robin and thank you for making me aware of this product, it sounds like a great solution. I’ll be in touch to investigate further, but meanwhile for those who are interested, you can buy the non-slip paint for your pointe hsoes at The Dancers Company website, https://www.thedancerscompany.com/

New space, floor is bamboo-very slippery for pointe students, need options for purchasing rubber tips/cement and how to apply/showmaker? Thanks.

This is a tough one. Bamboo is a great flooring option but it is very smooth – lovely for general use but offers no grip for dance at all.

Rubber tips do not work. Look for rubber paint. One option is Plasti-Dip. The problem with it is that it smells strongly and needs to “cure” for several days before use, so your students will really need to plan in advance.
