Amelie

Bloch Amelie pointe shoes are an introductory pointe shoe, designed to support the feet for students new to pointe work. They are available in soft and medium shank.

They're best for medium profile Grecian (somewhat tapered) feet. The high, slightly v-shaped vamp helps support the foot.

Amelie shoes are made with a paste which softens with moisture. You can soften them lightly by hand if necessary, but be cautious. Most of the "breaking-in" will happen by itself while you wear the shoes. If you wear them in class for one or two hours, the paste will soften and the shoe will mold to your foot. Let the shoe dry out thoroughly, then coat the inside of the shoe with shellac or jet glue so it's sealed and won't absorb moisture again.
