The number of positive reviews for this pointe shoe on the Discount Dance website is amazing. There seems to be a lot of very satisfied Grishko customers out there! So what's so good about the shoe?
One of the reasons they're such a best-seller is they come in a good range of widths and three different shanks. Warning - the hard shank is very, very hard (someone commented you could probably kill someone with it!), whereas the soft shank is labelled "super soft".
A major point that gets mentioned again and again - they look beautiful on your feet, enhancing your arch and giving you a long line. They have a longish winged vamp which gives more support - especially if you have bunions. Grishko claim the shoe is specially designed to relieve pressure on the big toe joint.
The tapered box is (obviously!) ideal for tapered toes. If you have wide feet, you should have no problem getting these shoes in the right width - but if you have square toes, think twice.
how can i know what tipe of foot ive got?
I don’t agree with you when you say that square toes can forget the 2007s. I have very square feet, and I love the shoes. I also tend to be quite picky when it comes to pointe shoes, since I am dancing many hours a day, at a very proffesional school. I also know several girls with square feet who loves those shoes!
Thanks so much for your comment, Oda. I was given this advice by a professional fitter, but it just goes to show that with pointe shoes, you can never say “never”. Every foot is unique and there are so many other factors to take into account.
Dafne, this website has some information on foot shape:
