Capezio Glisse Pointe Shoe Review
The Capezio Glisse is Discount Dance's best-selling pointe shoe, which must mean something!
Originally designed from specifications developed by Gine Chant, a former ballerina with the London City Ballet, the Glisse features a streamlined, rounded sole; a high U-shaped vamp; extended platform for maximum support; shaved shank for enhanced in-step; and elastic drawstring.
Good points:
- The high vamp gives good support for long toes;
- The broader toe box and higher platform give better stability (great for pirouettes);
- The toe box is ideal for square toes;
- The shaved shank enhances your line if you have low arches
Negatives
- If you have high, strong arches, you'll break the shank quickly - buy the Glisse ES (Extra Strong) instead;
- Heel can be baggy (can be fixed by darting) and tends to slip off if you don't use elastic;
- Some people find the longer platform annoying;
- Noisy
Recommended fit is one size UP from normal shoe size.
